The review of The pub

Whats it like eh?

A new series of articles now on steaming fish, thats right, it's the good pub guide in Manchester and maybe other places if I can be bothered. The first of course has to be the first pub that we visited in Manchester, thats right its the review of The Pub.

Description

The pub is a tradition irish pub located on Grosvenor Street, between Oxford Road and Upper Brook Street. Joined to it is the nightclub Zoo. The staff are extreamly friendly, and there are a wide range of drinks on offer. The pub also serve food during the day, rangeing from chips, to burger and chips. The pub doesn't accept the yellow card, however student discount is available on production of a NUS card. The pub being a popular drinking establishment also hosts the weekly mathsoc lunch, with the Nige also joining them in The pub. A jukebox is available, with a very wide range of songs on offer.

Benefits

The pub is located in the centre of Manchester, just outside of the A57(m) inner ring road, and as such is within walking distance of the university of Manchester, Man met, The BBC, And the city centre.
The pub has a extended license and regularly opens until past midnight, the time they shut is currently unkown. They also welcome people in until just before closing time.
All tested drinks are on offer with no problems(Red wine, Guinness, Carlsberg, Reef, J2O and soft drinks).

Some good and some bad

The food available is top notch, however the only problem is that it can sometimes take quite a while when many other people are eating, due to the lack of kitchen staff. The food is proper pub grub and the prices are reasonable.
The jukebox has a lot of songs on offer, their range has yet to be matched in any other pubs visited, However the videos to songs are not available, and it is rather expensive for a song (usually £1 each).
There is also a ATM machine in the pub, however this charges the account holder a small fee, it is expected to be arround 50p.

And the just plain ugly

The toilets are in desperate need of repair, the cubical also has a hole in the wall (not a cash machine, but a gap instead).

Guests in The pub

The Nige, and the Doctor Who guy.

In Summery

Although the pub has many problems that could be sorted out, it is a extreemly popular pub and as a result gets a thumbs up from us.
