Super powers of Time Lords.
What advantages do Time Lords have over us mere humans?The Time Lords are an anchient and powerful race. However as you may have guessed they are not human, they are indeed a alien race. Although these aliens look like humans they are indeed quite different to us. We are going to try and highlight some of the extra's they have over us.
- Regeneration Yes the big one, Time Lords have a nifty little trick that enables them to avoid death. This enables a Time Lord to be badly injoured without being killed. Unfortunately this ability only works 12 times giving a total of 13 lives. It also has the downside of changing your physical appearance quite dramatically, this can be a bit of a nuisance explaining that you are indeed the same person.
- Long Life Time Lords being lords of time need the ability to live for long periods of time. Useful if you find yourself traped and need to survive for long periods of time. Unfortunately it is unknown how long a Time Lord can live for, it is believed to be over 900 years, however it may be much longer than that.
- Mind Meld It has been known on select few occasions for Time Lords to be able to read a human's mind. It is unknown how much this can be done, and how often.
- Superior interlectual mind On many occasions Time Lords have shown great ability in mathematics, time, and alien languages. This indecates that Time Lords are able to learn a lot of information, and work their ways out of difficult situations.
- Long term memory Time Lords have shown on many instances the ability to remember a long time ago in their lives.
- Ability to alter timelines Time Lords are able to alter the timeline, this must be done carefuly as not to create a paradox.
- TARDIS Time Lords usually have machines called TARDIS's. This is a machine that simply allow a Time Lord and anyone inside the TARDIS to travel anywhere in time and space, they are also able to on occasions able to travel to alternative dimensions. However alternative dimensions are more difficult now, as nearly all the Time Lords are dead. Further explanation of a TARDIS is outside the scope of this article.
- Sonic Screw-driver Some Time Lords posses a device known as a Sonic Screw-driver, this allows them to do anything you would with a normal screw driver except at sonic speeds. However it doesn't allow access to Deadlock seals. It can also be used as a range of other devices, such as torch, medical diagnosis, remote control etc. There may be many more uses for this, however these are not documented.
- Psychic paper Psychic paper allows it's user to display on it what he or she wishes to. This is particularly useful to try and get into parties, or to prove that you're not a mad man intent on trying to kill the Queen of England at that time. It does however have it's downsides, in that if your mind wonders, then what you mind is thinking will be displed on the paper, and if the person being shown the paper knows about psychic paper then the trick can be defeated.
- Other bits and bobs As Time Lords are very smart indeed, and have knowlage of nearly all of time and space, there is no doubt that they could easily invent something that could cure any disease and make it into a nice chewwy sweet, but then that would have implications of altering timelines.
All listed Skills and tools are compiled from the 2005 and 2006 series of Doctor Who. Others may be available(from the older series and spin offs) however for the sake of clarity and ease of understanding only the current skills are listed.
