Our day out at alton towers

What fun on the day out in alton towers.

The 8th July 2005 saw the third of our annual days out to alton towers, this year we once again went the right way but were slowed down by the same roadworks outside stoke-on-trent, which as it happens have done sod all since last years outing to alton. We arrived at about 10:30 ish after a near miss of a car crash(yeah thanks Andy - dont hit any renaults) and(as mentioned before) the roadworks

This years rides were(by one or more members of the group):

Nemisis [?/10] - I didn't ride it, long que(40 min)
Duel [7/10] - A good all time classic, short que(5 min)
Congo river rapids [8/10] - Another all time classic, but not as good as last time due to the lack of squirity things, short que(4 mins)
Runaway mine train [9/10] - This one was faster than I remember it, short que(8 mins)
Imperial leather's log flume [2/10] - Lack of room in the bath(it's bath themed you see), short-ish que(10 mins)
Corkscrew [7/10] - After a minor hitch with the headrestraints this was another fun one, short que(5 mins)
Hex [8/10] - I genuinely didn't expect what was coming, short-ish que(20 mins)
Skyride [7/10] - Not really a ride, the line moved quickly(3 mins)
Duel(again) [6/10] - Been on it once already so a lower score than before, no que!(30 seconds)
River Rapids(again) [8/10] - The squirity thing still wasn't fixed, really short que(2 mins)
Log flume(again) [?/10] - I didn't ride a second time, que time unknown que time

a picture of me and my mates on the flume
When we got there we thought woo hoo no queues as we'd been smart and bought our tickets online, but unfortunately you need the card you purchased them with to use the machine - wich we didn't have - luckily we asked the woman at the desk and we got our tickets. When we got in the main part we thought "thats odd there's 0 minute ques for all the rides" which was true for "Air" as the damn thing was fucked, someone had pushed the "ride have a sleep" button or summat, and therefore we had to move, to find another ride to go on.

Andy and Beth then went on nemisis(you wouldn't get me on that!). We quickly went through until we finished the log flume, which we then had lunch at Macdonalds. Corkscrew next, that was fun. Unfortunatly there was a 100 min que for RITA, which ment we didn't go on that!

We then went on Hex which I might say was pretty darn fun. Quickly over to forbiden valley which then followed a 60 min wait for air(it's worth it though), BUT the thing broke down when we got to the front of the fucking que, 70 fucking minutes we waited just to get turned down right at the end! for one ride! The rest of the day went well but we didn't get to go on many big rides.

Rides we(I) wanted to go on:

I really wanted to go on Air, Oblivion and RITA, they all look fan-bloody tastic!

Rule #1: Leave 30 minutes earlier than you expect to, in order to allow for the roadworks, you can NEVER have enough time at the towers.
Rule #2: Bring food with you, it's expensive!

Pictures coming soon! and remember guys look out for stray curbs in stoke-on-trent!
